🎉 Festival MOSAÏQUE Laval: Three Nights of Free Music (Aug 13–15)

Three nights, three stages, 25+ performances, and an artisan market. The 6th edition of Festival MOSAÏQUE is running at Place Centrale in Centropolis, Laval, through Saturday. Thursday goes from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday and Saturday run 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. New this year: MOSAÏQUE la Nuit at Le Balthazar brings late-night sets from midnight onward for those who want to keep going. It’s about a 20-minute drive north of downtown, and the entire bill is free.

✨ Festilumi: A Glowing Night Out at Marché Central (from Aug 14)

Quebec’s favourite light trail relaunched for 2026 with a completely redesigned layout. The new Festilumi at Marché Central is a 1.5 km walk through 13 themed worlds: a dinosaur realm with animatronic creatures, a fluorescent maze, a Fiesta de Luz universe inspired by Latin American colour, and more. The experience runs 60 to 90 minutes, ideal for a date. Snacks and drinks are available on site. Tickets are through Fever, and there’s free parking at Marché Central.

🎤 Chance The Rapper: Coloring Book at 10 (Aug 15)

A throwback date night for anyone who still has Coloring Book in their regular rotation. Chance the Rapper brings his 10 Year Anniversary Tour to MTELUS this Saturday at 8 p.m. (doors at 6:30). The album holds up, and hearing it live in a room is a different experience entirely. MTELUS keeps the crowd close, so there’s no bad spot in the house. 🎸 Deep Purple, Kansas and Jefferson Starship at Place Bell (Aug 17)

Three classic rock acts on one bill, on a Monday night in Laval. Deep Purple plays Place Bell on August 17 at 6:45 p.m. (doors 5:45), with Kansas and Jefferson Starship opening. Place Bell is a solid room that sounds great, and Laval is easier to reach than people give it credit for: a 20-minute drive north, or Metro Montmorency and a short bus connection. Cashless venue; bring a card.

🦁 The Lion King: A Proper Night at Place des Arts (from Aug 19)

The full Broadway production opens at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on August 19 and runs through September 6. If you haven’t seen it live, the puppetry and costumes are genuinely spectacular, and the Elton John and Tim Rice score is something else when it fills a proper concert hall. Six Tony Awards including Best Musical. Tickets range from $59 to $264 depending on date and section, with evening performances and weekend matinees. Book dinner in the Quartier beforehand and you’ve got a full evening sorted.

👗 Festival M.A.D.: Free Fashion and Music Downtown (Aug 20–23)

The 26th edition of M.A.D. (Mode, Arts et Divertissement) takes over the Quartier des Spectacles for four days. Fashion, music, dance, visual arts, and live performance on an open-air site right off the Place-des-Arts Metro station. The whole thing is free, and the programming runs across multiple stages and formats. It’s the kind of event where you plan to stay an hour and end up still there at midnight.
